Puri: Good news for Jagannath devotees, a shade is slated to be erected in Badadanda of Puri district in Odisha, reports said. Reports say that, there will be shade arrangements for the devotees at Puri Badadanda.

Reports say that, a permanent shade is to be erected in Badadanda which leads to the Jagannath Temple. Reports further added that drinking water, AC and seating will be arranged inside the shade. Measurements have been done by the engineering firm. There will be shades on both sides from Marichikot Street to Singha Dwara.

The Sub Collector of Puri informed about this development. In what can be considered as a great sigh of relief of the devotees, who have to stand in long queue for hours to enter the Puri Srimandir, a dedicated corridor will be constructed, informed Bhabatarana Sahu.

While speaking about the development, the Sub Collector said that a dedicated corridor will be constructed from Marchikote Square to the Singha Dwara with the aim to facilitate the devotees who have to stand in long queue for hours to enter the Jagannath temple.

This special corridor will be there all throughout the year, he said adding that however, it will be removed during the annual Rath Yatra period.

A multi-level parking with the capacity to accommodate 500 cars and 500 bikes was inaugurated on Jail Road. Two more multi-level parking buildings will be set in the city soon, the Sub Collector informed.
