Bhubaneswar: BJD’s Patkura MLA and the party’s Assembly candidate from the same constituency for 2019 elections Bed Prakash Agarwalla passed away at a private hospital here today. He was hospitalized for past few days.
Agarwalla, who was sick for quite sometime, had not turned up to receive BJD ticket to fight in the election after his name was announced by the party for the same. However, later he took part in the campaigning also.
A popular leader, Agarwalla had been elected to Odisha Legislative for six times in his career, 4 times from Kendrapara and 2 times from Patkura seats. He also became the finance minister of the State in late Biju Patnaik government.
Political leaders in Odisha across party line have expressed their grief over the death of the Agarwalla.
