Bhubaneswar: Senior leader and two-times MLA from Khordha Jyotirindra Nath Mitra, popularly known as ‘Jitu Mitra’ today made a return to Biju Janata Dal (BJD), the party which he had served till 2014.
Mitra, rejoined BJD in the presence of party supremo Naveen Patnaik at the latter’s residence along with hundreds of supporters.
Mitra, who had been elected to the 12th Assembly as an independent candidate and 13th Assembly in BJD ticket, had left the conch party following denial for a ticket in 2014 election.
The former Khordha MLA had joined BJP on March 25, 2014 along with Bibhu Prasad Sahoo, Purnachandra Mallick, Akshaya Pati, Ramesh Srichandan, Bapi Parida, Rashmi Parida, Manas Parija and Ansuh Mohammad.
