Elderly woman sells land, donates Rs 20 lakh to Puri Jagannath Temple to fulfill husband’s last wish

Bhubaneswar: Setting an example for others, an elderly woman sold her land and donated Rs 20 lakh to Puri Jagannath Temple with the aim to fulfill her husband’s last wish.

One Pankaj Kant Panda of Sadanandapur village under Basta Block of Balasore district was working as a commercial sale tax officer. He had reportedly planned to donate some of his hard-earned money to Lord Jagannath and his siblings. However, he died of cancer in 2021.

Pankaj’s wife Suprabha reportedly sold her land measuring 24 decimal in Cuttack in order to fulfill her husband’s long-cherished desire. She got Rs 35 lakh after selling the property. Out of the Rs 35 lakh, she donated Rs 20 lakh to the Srimandir and Rs 15 lakh to Sambhunath High School at Basta under the Mo School Abhiyan of the Odisha government.
