Paralakhemundi: In yet another monsoon-related incident of wall collapse in the state, an elderly woman was killed and another turned critical after a wall at their house caved in and fell on them in Anukunda village under Paralakhemundi police limits in Gajapati district last night.
The deceased has been identified as Sesi Limma. The injured is Surekha Limma.
As per the report, the victim duo was sleeping inside a thatched house last night when the mishap took place. The mud wall of the house which had weakened due to heavy rain which lashed the village in last couple of days collapsed suddenly and fell on them.
A critically injured victim duo was rescued from the rubbles by some neighbours who rushed them to Gajapati DHH where Sesi died under treatment later.
Police have lodged a case of unnatural death in the incident and started investigation.
