Elderly dies after falling into toilet drain in Cuttack
An elderly woman died after falling into a toilet drain while plucking flowers in Jobra area of Odisha's Cuttack district.
Cuttack: In a tragic incident, an elderly woman died after falling into a toilet drain in Odisha’s Cuttack district. The incident has come to the fore from Jobra area of the district.
The deceased has been identified as Jayashree Rout (60), a resident of Cuttack locality.
According to sources, on Friday morning, she went to pluck flowers. She stood on the cover of the drain but unfortunately the cover broke and she fell into the drain.
On being informed, fire service personnel reached the spot and started a rescue operation. While trying to take Jayashree out of the drain, she lost her life. The police have also reached the spot, recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem. They have initiated a probe into the matter.
