Bhubaneswar: In a piece of interesting news, drivers might get free tea at night in Odisha said reliable reports in this regard on Thursday. Transport Minister Tukuni Sahoo said that this will be implemented at the earliest.

The Collectors of various districts will coordinate with the Regional Transport Office (RTO) and identify hotels and dhabas that will provide tea to the drivers in Odisha at night.

This has been decided by the Odisha Government to put a check on the rising number of road accidents on the National Highway at night. The accidents mainly involves larger vehicles.

Further it is worth mentioning that, the drivers (generally these driving trucks and long distance buses) have to drive all night long which makes them drowsy hence leading to accidents.

The roadside dhabas and eateries will be given directions by the Odisha Government to provide free tea to the drivers at night.

Further it is worth mentioning that, letters have been issued to the District Collectors. The Collectors of various districts will coordinate with the Regional Transport Office (RTO) and identify hotels and dhabas that will provide tea.

According to latest reports, truck terminals will be made in every district said reliable reports. They will also be given space to take rest in the dhabas and restaurants for free.
