Jajpur: In a sad incident, the decomposed body of a youth has been recovered from Baitarani River in Jajpur district of Odisha on Thursday. It has been suspected that he was thrown to the River after being murdered.
As per reports, today afternoon a few locals witnessed a decomposed body floating at the Siddheshwara Ghata of Baitarani River under Jajpur Town Police limits. They immediately alerted Jajpur Town Police Station about it.
After getting information, Manas Ranjan Chakra, the IIC of Jajpur Town PS reached the spot and arranged to fish out the body from the river water with the help of others. It was observed that the hands and legs of the body were tied with rope. It has been suspected that the youth was killed by someone and thrown into the river. Further investigation of the case is underway.
It is to be noted that earlier today a half buried dead body had been unearthed from the Kuakhai River in Bhubaneswar.
