Bhadrak: In a crackdown on corrupt officials, the Vigilance Department officials raided houses and office of a cooperative society secretary in Bhandaripokhari block in Bhadrak today on charges of amassing assets disproportionate to his known source of income.
The accused official has been identified as Tesinga Cooperative Society Secretary Rajendra Khandai.
As per the report, 3 separate teams of Balasore Vigilance unit took part in the raid which was conducted simultaneously at six places including his residence in Tesinga, cooperative society office and a relative’s house in the area.
That apart, the anti-corruption wing officials also raided the office of Khandai’s wife who happens to be Tesinga panchayat and examined various documents.
While the raid is currently underway the exact amount of seized disproportionate asset would be disclosed once it is completed, informed the Vigilance officials.
