Bhubaneswar: In a major success to Commissionerate Police against vehicle snatchers, it has arrested at least three persons by busting a car theft racket in the Capital City Bhubaneswar today.
As per the report, carrying out an investigation into a number of vehicle snatching cases in past few days in different parts of the city, the Khandagiri Police today conducted raids at a number of places and nabbed the accused.
During the raid, the cops also seized at least 3 cars, a few bikes and gold jewellery.
Informing on the modus operandi of the busted gang police said, its members used to threaten the victims with toy guns before snatching their cars, bikes and other valuables.
The gang had come under police’s scanner of late, after snatching three cars from Bhubaneswar and 2 others from Khordha, said police. That apart, over 30 criminal cases including vehicle snatching have been pending against it at different police stations across the State, they added.
