Bhubaneswar: Odisha government reduced bus fares for all categories today.
This move comes under the automatic fare adjustment mechanism.
The development happened following a decrease in diesel prices.
The new fare will be effective from today.
According to a notification issued by the transport department,
The fare has been reduced by one paise per km for ordinary and express buses.
Whereas, it has decreased by two paise for deluxe and AC deluxe buses.
As per the notification the fare for ordinary bus will be 69 paise per km against 70 paise and 72 paise against 73 paise per km for the express category.
Besides, deluxe category buses will now charge 99 paise per km as against Rs 1.01 per km while passengers travelling in AC deluxe buses will pay Rs 1.21 per km as against Rs 1.23 per km earlier.
