BJD’s Jan Sampark Padayatra from October 2

BJD Bhubaneswar: Intensifying its campaign against the BJP, the ruling Biju Janta Dal (BJD) today announced to launch a Jan Sampark Padayatra across the state starting from October 2. During the padayatra, the party would raise the issue of Central neglect and take its achievements to the people of the state.

Announcing about the Jan Sampark Padyatra at a press conference held here, senior leader and BJD spokesperson Debi Prasad Mishra said, the foot march would be flagged off by party president Naveen Patnaik at Mahishakhal in Bhubaneswar on the auspicious day of Gandhi Jayanti on October 2. The march would conclude on October 11.

Senior party leader and ex-minister Prasanna Acharya said, the main objective of holding the foot march is to make people aware of the injustice being meted out to Odisha by the BJP-led Central Government. Various achievements of the BJD government in last couple of years at the state-level would also be highlighted before people, he added.

BJD would demand hike in the Minimum Selling Price (MSP) of paddy in the state, special category state status, resolution to Polavaram issue and cut in the fuel price during the padayatra.

Launching a scathing attack on BJP along with party leader Prasant Nanda, who was also present during the meet, Debi Mishra alleged that the saffron party has turned anti-poor.
