Jharsuguda: At least one person was killed after a bike he was travelling by was hit by a truck at Bhasker Textile Mill (BTM) bypass last night.
The deceased has been identified as Asutosh Behera of Sundergarh district.
Asutosh who worked in a private company in Jharsuguda was en-route to his home late in the night when the mishap took place. As the driver of a speeding truck which was coming from the same direction hit him from rear and mowed down subsequently he sustained critical injuries.
Some bystanders immediately rushed the victim to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.
BTM Police rushed to the spot and seized the mangled by to start an investigation into the crash.
