Bhubaneswar: The prime accused in Priyanka Priyadarshini murder case that occurred on July 6 at Bhimatangi in Bhubaneswar, has confessed to his crime during interrogation, informs Bhubaneswar DCP Umashankar Dash.
It was a complete pre-planned murder. Jagannath had come to Priyanka’s house at around 9 am on the fateful day and forced her to run-away with him. When she denied to go with him, there was altercation between them.
Jagannath was equipped with knife, vermillion, coldrinks and poison. The woman and her little son were inside the house. He proposed her for marriage. He asked her to flee with him.The conversation later turned into an heated argument and during the period, the house owner knocked at the door with some dahibara for which he hid inside the bathroom.
The house owner then offered the woman Dahibara and took the son along with him. Just before attacking Priyanka, the accused had applied vermillion on her forehead. He then slit her throat with a knife after she denied his proposal and he attempted suicide by consuming the poison. Before to it, he made a video call to Priyanka’s husband, informed Bhubaneswar DCP.
A suicidal note was recovered from him that he had been written 4 days before the murder.informs Bhubaneswar DCP.
