Puri: A core technical team of Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) will inspect the condition of Garbha Gruha (sanctum sanctorum) and the roof top of the Jagamohan — the prayer hall adjoining the Garbha Gruha of Lord Sri Jagannath temple here – on Tuesday.
Director (Monument) of ASI and members of Sri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) will accompany the ASI technical team during the inspection.
Taking into account the remarks of Gajapati Maharaj Dibyasingha Deb, who drew attention to the poor condition of the Mandap in a recent TV interview, the team, led by NC Pal, will also inspect the Nata Mandap of the temple.
Earlier, ASI had taken various steps to protect the roof of the Jagamohan by mending the cracks on this monumental structure of the 12th century temple.
