8 places of Odisha record 40 Degree Celsius or more

Bhubaneswar: As many as eight places of Odisha recorded maximum day temperatures of 40 degrees Celsius or more today, informed the regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD).

Boudh was the hottest place in the State as it recorded the highest temperature of 42.5 degrees Celsius. This was followed by Jharsuguda (40.8).

The other places where the mercury soared to or above the 40 Degree Celsius mark are Sonepur (41.7), Bargarh (40.4), Angul (40.1), Sambalpur (40.0), Balangir (40.0) and Jajpur (41.0).

It is to be noted here that the heatwave conditions in the State have come down to some extent due to rainfall or thunderstorm in some districts of Odisha.
