Odisha : 32 migrant labourers rescued at Turekela railway station

Balangir : As many as 32 migrant labourers including minors were rescued from Turekela railway station in Odisha while they were being taken to Andhra Pradesh on the wee hours of Thursday.

All the labourers belong to Belapada block in Balangir district, police said.

Acting on a tip off about over 30 persons including 10 women are waiting at the railway station and are being taken to Andhra Pradesh to work as labourers, local police conducted raid and rescued them from the station.

The labour sardar, who was taking them to other state, however, absconded and police have launched a search operation for him.
