3 minor boys critically hurt in battery explosion in Ganjam

Berhampur: At least three minor children sustained critical injuries after a detonator went off in Sompur village under Hinjilicut block in Ganjam district on Tuesday.

As per the report, the victims were en-route to their homes after attending tuition classes at aroud 8am this morning when came across the detonator dumped in garbage and took the same out to play. While playing with the detonator a battery attached to it suddenly went off.

The injured trio identified as Badal Gouda (10), Narayan Gouda (12), and Sridhar Gouda (10) were rushed to Hinjilicut Sub-Divisional Hospital for treatment and then shifted to MKCG Medical in Berhampur for better treatment post the mishap.

Police are investigating into the incident.
