22 Chhattisgarh migrant labourers rescued from Cuttack brick kiln

Cuttack: At least 22 migrant labourers from Chhattisgarh who have been engaged at a brick kiln in Phulnakhara area here under inhumane conditions were rescued by district administration officials yesterday.

As per the report, the labourers including women and minor children were being subjected to physical torture in the hands of the brick kiln owner, which was later came to the notice of some social activists and they reported to Kalinga TV.

A team of district administration officials led by Cuttack Sadar Sub Collector and labour officials conducted a raid at the brick kiln and rescued the migrant labourers in the evening.

“After the intervention of the district administration officials the all the pending dues of the labourers have been cleared by the owner and they are returning their homes,” informed an official.
