2 Minor Girls Drown In Sambalpur District Of Odisha

Sambalpur: In a tragic incident, two minor girls met watery grave on Friday after falling in an artificial pond in Sambalpur district of Odisha. The incident took place in Kolpada village under Burla police limits.

The deceased girls have been identified as Daleswari Chhatria, daughter of Bishnu Chhatria and Nisha Mahanand, daughter of Bijay Mahanand. Both of them were three year old.

As per reports, the two girls were playing near their neighbour’s house while they accidentally slipped into a nearby open pit that was filled with water and resultantly drowned. The pit had been dug for house construction work.

After getting information, Police rushed to the spot and fished out the bodies. Later, they sent the bodies to VIMSAR in Burla for post-mortem.

A pall of gloom has descended in the village following the tragic incident. Further investigation of the case is underway.
