1st Coronavirus Death In Odisha, Guidelines To Handle The Covid-19 Dead Body

Bhubaneswar: The coronavirus Chief Spokesperson, Subroto Bagchi in his media address today clearly mentioned that, the body of the 1st coronavirus death in Odisha will be handled according to guidelines published by the Central Government.

The said guidelines shall be followed by the State government and the required precautions shall be strictly adhered to, added Bagchi.

The hospital, AIIMS Bhubaneswar in this case shall complete all the required formalities and hand over the body to the State government. The Odisha Government shall in turn hand over the body to the family but it shall supervise the death rituals till the very end.

The Central health ministry has come out with guidelines for management of bodies of Covid-19 victims, The,  COVID-19: GUIDELINES ON DEAD BODY MANAGEMENT have been published on 15th Of March 2020.

The WHO guidelines also recommend proper use of personal protection equipment so as to avoid direct contact with body fluids.
