VVS Laxman to step in as head coach of Indian Cricket team after Rahul Dravid’s exit

In recent news, VVS Laxman is set to replace Rahul Dravid, stepping in as the head coach of the Indian Cricket Team.

The India vs Australia final match of ICC ODI Cricket World Cup 2023 was the last match for Rahul Dravid as the head coach of India. Reports from reliable sources confirm that the two-year contract with the legendary batter has come to a conclusion with the end of World Cup 2023.

Further, reports state that Rahul Dravid has taken the decision to not continue as the head coach of the Indian cricket team. Reportedly, VVS Laxman is set to replace Rahul Dravid, stepping in as the head coach of the Indian Cricket Team.

It is worth mentioning that VVS Laxman also acts as the head of BCCI’s National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. Previously, he was also the interim head coach of the Indian team during the Ireland T20I series before the World Cup and the white-ball series against New Zealand after T20 World Cup last year.

India’s first T20I against South Africa is scheduled to take place on December 10. For the same, the team is likely to depart by December 4.

During Rahul Dravid’s two-year mentorship, India lost in the T20 World Cup semifinals in Australia, won the Asia Cup, reached ODI World Cup finals. India also won the home test series against Australia, Sri Lanka, and New Zealand.

Team India faced a heart-breaking six wicket loss to Australia in the finals of ICC ODI World Cup 2023. The India vs Australia match took place at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad on November 19.
