Islamabad: Pakistan cricketer Iftikhar Ahmed has strongly refuted a viral quote falsely attributed to him, expressing his dismay over the spread of false information and hate on social media platforms. The quote, which wrongly compared playing against India to playing with ‘street children,’ ignited outrage among cricket fans and sparked heated debates.

Taking to his Twitter account, Ahmed set the record straight, emphasizing that no professional cricketer would make such a statement. He urged the public to cease sharing false news and called for reporting the individual responsible for the misinformation. Ahmed even made an appeal to Elon Musk, the owner of the platform, to take action against the account that had shared the misleading post.

“I’ve been made aware of this statement which I’ve never made. In fact, no professional cricketer will make such a statement. Please stop circulating false news & report this individual for spreading hate. @X @elonmusk please ban this account as people are misusing the blue tick,” Iftikhar tweeted.
