Mumbai Indians’ newly-elected captain Hardik Pandya might miss the Indian Premiere League (IPL) 2024 due to ankle injury, claimed media reports. Reportedly, Hardik Pandya is going to miss the upcoming T20I series against Afghanistan, while his participation in IPL 2024 is yet to be confirmed.

Hardik Pandya got injured during match against Bangladesh in World Cup 2023 in Pune. Following the injury, he also missed the recently concluded white-ball leg of the South Africa tour, as well as the T20I series against Australia.

Hardik was traded back to Mumbai Indians after two years. Following this, Hardik was also selected as the captain of MI by taking over the 10-year captaincy of Rohit Sharma.

The blue jersey player led Gujarat to the IPL title in 2022 in their debut season, and was the Player of the Match in the final against Rajasthan Royals at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. In 2023, GT made the IPL final for the second time in as many seasons, where they finished runners up to Chennai Super Kings.
