Australia has advanced to the ICC ODI Men’s World Cup 2023 after clinching a three-wicket victory over South Africa in the second semi-final at Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Thursday. With this, the two teams to play in the Wold Cup final have been finalised. Now, Rohit Sharma’s ‘Men in Blue’ will be facing Pat Cummings-led Australia in the World Cup final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on November 19, (Sunday).

Ahead of the upcoming World Cup final match, former India captain Sourav Ganguly has complimented the Indian team and described them as ‘looking smashing.’ He also stated that it will be tough to stop India.

During an interview after the thrilling second semi-final between South Africa and Australia, Ganguly talked about his admiration for Team India and wished them best wishes for the upcoming match. The ex-president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) emphasised that if India maintains the same level of performance displayed in the league phase and the semi-final, they will be a formidable force to contend with.

He also praised the team’s performance in semi-final against New Zealand, where they secured a win. In the match against New Zealand, Virat Kohli recorded his 50th ODI century, whereas Shreyas Iyer got his second century in the World Cup, and Mohammed Shami recorded a 7-wicket haul in his ODI career.

He said that India is looking smashing at the moment. I wish them all the best for Ahmedabad. He further added that India have played very well in the tournament, and now just one match and Australia stand between them and the World Cup trophy. If India continue to play like how they have performed in the tournament so far, then it will be tough to stop them. It will be a good match as Australia has a good team as well.

All cricket fans are now eagerly waiting for the thrilling match between the ‘Men in Blue’ and the five-time world champions, Australia.
