ISSF World Cup: Apurvi Chandela wins gold in 10m air rifle

New Delhi: India’s Apurvi Chandela won gold in the Women’s 10 metres Air Rifle event at the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup here on Saturday. She shot a world-record score of 252.9 in the final.

With this win,  Apurvi becomes only the second Indian after Anjali Bhagwat to win gold in the women’s 10m air rifle event at a World Cup.

The other Indians in the fray, Anjum Moudgil and Elavenil Valaraivan finished 12th and 30th, scoring 628.0 and 625.3 points respectively in the qualification stage.

However, India have secured both their Olympic quotas in the Women’s 10 metres event through Apurvi and Anjum at the World Championships last September.
