IND vs ENG: KL Rahul ruled out of third Test match

Indian batter KL Rahul has been ruled out for the third Test match of five-match series against England at Gujarat’s Rajkot. Karnataka batsman Devdutt Padikkal will be replacing KL Rahul in the upcoming match.

In his latest Ranji Trophy match, Paddikal had hit 151 runs. During the match, chairman of selectors Ajit Agarkar watching the Karnataka vs Tamil Nadu game from the stands. Following which he has been selected in the squad.

On Saturday, while announcing the squad for the last three matches, the BCCI statement had said, “The participation of Ravindra Jadeja and KL Rahul is subject to fitness clearance from the BCCI medical team”.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli is also not going to play the remaining test match of the series against England citing personal reasons as BCCI announced the squad for the last three matches.

In a statement released on the official website, BCCI revealed that Kohli will remain unavailable for selection for the remainder of the series and the board supports the star batter’s decision.

“Virat Kohli will remain unavailable for selection for the remainder of the series due to personal reasons. The Board fully respects and supports Virat Kohli’s decision,” the statement read.

Virat has missed the first two Tests in Hyderabad and Vizag, and is also going to miss the upcoming three matches of the five match series against England. It is suspected by his fans that the king Kohli has taken leave as he and his wife are going to welcome their second child soon.
