French Open Badminton: K Srikanth wins men’s singles title

Paris: Ace Indian shuttler Kidambi Srikanth lifted the men’s singles title of the French Open Superseries badminton here in France on Sunday.

Srikanth, seeded eight in the tournament, took just 34 minutes to get the better of his Japanese opponent Kenta Nishimoto 21-14 21-13 in the summit clash.

With this win, Srikanth won his fourth title of the season. He had already completed a hat-trick of Super Series titles this year
Greysia POLL and Apriyani Rahayu won the Women’s doubles title, defeating Lee Sottee and SHIN Seung Chen 21-17, 21-15.

The Mixed Doubles title went to Tontowi Ahmad and Liliyana NATSIR who beat Zheng Siwei and Chen Qingchen 22-20, 21-15.
