ICC has announced the Team of World Cup 2023, which includes six Indian players. Notably, Rohit Sharma has been named as the captain of this team. Alongside Rohit, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah, and Md Shami have secured spots in the team. The final list was drawn out by the selection panel. The panel comprises of Ian Bishop, Kass Naidoo, Shane Watson, Wasim Khan, and Sunil Vaidya.

Rohit Sharma’s outstanding performance in the World Cup 2023 earned him the captaincy, having scored 597 runs in 11 matches with a striking rate of 125. Joining him in the top order is retiring Quinton De Kock, who made history as the first Wicket keeper to surpass 500 runs and claim 20 wickets in a single World Cup.

Virat Kohli, the leading run-scorer of the tournament with an impressive 765 runs, holds the No 3 position. Daryl Mitchell from New Zealand, India’s KL Rahul, and Australia’s Glenn Maxwell complete the top order.
