Odisha government creates additional posts for state’s Information Service Cadre, Check details

Bhubaneswar: The government has created additional posts for the Odisha Information Service (OIS) cadre to strengthen public relations activities in the state.

The State Cabinet, headed by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, approved the proposal to increase the number of cadres on Saturday.

As per the cabinet decision, 61 posts at different levels of the OIS cadre have been created by the government, while four posts have been abolished.

“The cadre of OIS is restructured with creation of 46 posts and abolition of four posts at the level of SDIPRO (OIS-II). The newly created 46 posts of SDIPRO (OIS-II) include 20 posts of SDIPRO to cover all the subdivisions of the State, 8 posts of PRO for the group of Departments, 2 posts of PRO of Social Media Activities, 2 posts of PRO for Bhubaneswar and Cuttack Municipal Corporations, 6 posts of PRO for six important government offices and remaining 8 posts of Leave, Training, and Deputation Reservation Officer,” the press brief released by the cabinet read.

Meanwhile, 10 posts are being created in the rank of DIPRO (OIS-JB), which include posts of Manager, Publication; Store Officer; Research and Reference Officer; DIPRO, Rourkela being taken out of the SDIPRO (OIS-II) level one post of PRO for OLA. Additionally, one post of Assistant Director (Social Media) and the remaining four posts of Leave, Training, and Deputation Reserve Officer have been created.

Furthermore, two posts are being created in the ranks of Deputy Director and Joint Director and one has been created at the level of Additional Director.
