A youth was recently seen gripping the head of a King Cobra snake tightly to exhibit it to the audience. Yet, his daredevil act did not go well with netizens. They questioned the young man why he is disturbing an innocent creature.

The said video was posted by Instagram user World_of snakes_ on June 17 and it has already garnered more than 15 thousand likes so far.

The Insta user who shared the video captioned the post as “ King Cobra… This grip doesn’t hurt the snake, This is dangerous, don’t try this.” The video has original audio.

We can see in the video that a king cobra is standing up with flare hood while a young man grabs it by its head. He grips the snake head tightly which has been questioned by the netizens.

“What the f**k are you doing? Does it make you feel stronger? You are crushing its windpipe and it’s clearly suffering. We don’t need to see this to remember that Cobra are dangerous. Leave animals in peace!,” wrote a user in the comment box.

“With big King Cobras it’s very very hard to pin their heads when capturing them. They thrash and risk breaking their necks or risk the chance of getting bitten. Traditionally, Freehand head captures are typically the safest method (when done properly they don’t see your hand behind their head) Although there are other methods, this is what I chose that day. I had to inspect an injuring on his mouth. And there is no other way to do so without securing his head. This doesn’t hurt them at all. King Cobras have a hard time forgiving their keepers so this is something that shouldn’t ever be done without reasons,” wrote another user.

Why grip it up like that?, asks another Instagram user.

“These people shouldn’t own kings. Not only is this horrible for the snake this is like treating a dolphin like a tetra. They are extremely intelligent snakes and you can work with them. Looks like this guy was too bored to do any of the work. And only wants it for the views,” wrote another user in the comment box.

Another user was so much bothered that he commented, “Would love to see this clown get bit.”

“This is irrational showmanship and you are giving responsible reptile enthusiasts a bad name by acting in such a reckless manner my friend. Enjoy these animals gently, carefully and for God sakes don’t play with them outside! This is how we are damaging ecosystems like our Everglades with non-endemic species. They can and do get loose. Can you imagine our Glades growing any significant populations of Cobras, Taipans or Australian Brown Snakes? It would be a nightmare,” another user commented.

“why harass an innocent animal,” asked another Insta user.
