Madhya Pradesh Cop gives CPR to snake; Video goes viral

A video of a constable reviving a snake through CPR that had consumed water contaminated with pesticide is going viral over the internet.

A constable named Atul Sharma from Narmadapuram of Madhya Pradesh gained widespread attention due to a viral video. This video showcased his attempt to revive a snake through CPR that had consumed water contaminated with pesticide and had become immobile.

Residents in a local residential colony had faced the dilemma of a non-poisonous snake trapped within a pipeline. In their efforts to remove the snake from the pipe, they resorted to pouring water mixed with pesticide down the pipeline, which left the snake unconscious. Faced with this situation, they reached out to the local authorities for assistance.

The video is presently going viral over the internet. Constable Atul Sharma, who identifies himself as a “self-taught snake rescuer,” responded to the call. The video footage shows Sharma carefully examining the snake to assess its condition and breathing. He then attempted mouth-to-mouth resuscitation on the snake, periodically sprinkling clean water on the reptile, all while a crowd gathered around to witness the unusual rescue effort.

It’s worth noting that the efficacy of CPR on a snake has been a subject of debate, with some questioning its impact on reptiles. A veterinarian consulted on this matter suggested that the snake might have regained consciousness naturally rather than as a result of the CPR. Regardless, the snake eventually showed signs of movement, much to the delight of the onlookers.
