Bhubaneswar: A youth was today hacked to death at Gadakana under Mancheswar police limits this evening. Though the motive behind the crime is yet to be ascertained police suspect past rivalry behind the incident.
The deceased has been identified as Deepak Behera (25). Eyewitnesses said that two miscreants came in a motorcycle and assaulted him with a sword near a market complex in the area.
He was immediately rushed to the nearest private hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Police said that the deceased was also involved in around seven criminal cases. Police have started an investigation into the incident.
