Uttarkashi tunnel rescue, Odia workers to return home today

After the successful Uttarkashi tunnel rescue, the Odia workers are scheduled to return home on Friday, said reports.

Bhubaneswar: After the successful Uttarkashi tunnel rescue, the Odia workers are scheduled to return home on Friday, said reports. It is however worth mentioning that four of the workers are scheduled to return today. Whereas one is still under observation in AIIMS Rishikesh.

The Chairman 5T (Transformational Initiatives) VK Pandian on Thursday spoke to the five Odia workers who were rescued from Uttarkashi.

The 5T Chairman had an interaction with the labourers through video call. It is worth mentioning here that the five workers are currently in AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences), Rishikesh. VK Pandian enquired about the health of the workers.

The 5T Chairman further discussed about the facilities in the hospital with the workers post the Uttarkashi tunnel rescue. He also asked them when they are planning to come back to Odisha.

The Odisha Labour Minister Sarada Prasad Nayak was present during the interaction. The Minister along with a team was there during the Uttarkashi tunnel rescue operation, said reports.  Further the 5T Chairman said that the CM is delighted to know about the safe rescue of the workers and is eager to meet them upon their return.
