Angul: Two persons were drowned while taking bath in Samal barrage of Brahmani river in the district this afternoon.
The deceased have been identified as Kishore Nayak (27) and Kanhu Charan Mohanty (29). The incident took place near Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Limited (OPTCL) project in Brahmani river.
Eyewitnesses said that both the youths screamed for help before slipping deep into the water. “By the time we reached the spot to rescue the victims, they were completely drowned. We immediately informed the fire brigade which fished out the bodies,” said an eyewitness.
