Jajpur Town: Panic gripped Rahas Guhali village under Binjharpur police limits after some villagers claimed that they spotted a tigress along with her three cubs roaming near the locality Wednesday evening.
Villagers claimed that they even tried to take photographs of the animals. “As it was evening time the pictures were not clear. We also immediately informed the matter to the forest officials. Most of us are afraid of venturing outside in the night,” said Ganesh Samal, a villager.
After getting information from the villagers, forest department officials today conducted a search operation and found some pugmarks from the spot. “We have taken photographs of the pugmarks and have sent those for further verification. Prima facie it appeared that the pugmarks are of some other animal. But we have asked our men to remain alert and trace the animal,” said Forester, Jajpur Town, Premananda Routray.
