Solar eclipse: Odisha Govt declares holiday on Dec 26

Bhubaneswar: The Government of Odisha declared December 26 as official holiday in view of solar eclipse, an official said on Tuesday.

All the schools, colleges and government offices will remain closed on the day.

The State government has made special arrangements at several places here to help people to view the celestial event safely on December 26.

People can see the partial solar eclipse in morning through telescope at Pathani Samanta Planetarium here.

Sources said, the partial eclipse will appear at the first location at 7.59.53 AM IST on Thursday, December 26. It will after that reach the full eclipse stage at 9.04.33 AM IST and then move to the maximum eclipse position at 10.47.46 AM IST.
