SC Hearing On Puri Srimandir Reforms Today

New Delhi: The hearing in Puri Srimandir reform case is all set to take place in Supreme Court today. A two-member bench consisting of Justice S.A. Bode and Justice Abdul Nazeer will convene the hearing.

According to reports, the violence at Puri’s Jagannath Temple in October last year over the introduction of Queue system will also be taken up during the hearing.

Post the incident, the Supreme Court-appointed Amicus Curiae Ranjit Kumar had asked for more time to file his response with respect to his recent visit to Puri Srimandir and discussion with the temple administration and servitors for implementation of the reforms suggested by the apex court.

During the hearing, 9 parties in the case will put forward their sides in the court. Meanwhile, the SC is yet to consider the opinions submitted by the Puri Shankaracharya, Gaurashankar Singhari, Indic Collective Trust and the Hindu Dharmacharya Sabha regarding the reforms.
