Puri: Spot identified for Srimandir Parikrama Project inaugural yajna

The spot for yajna during the inauguration of Puri Srimandir Parikrama Project has been identified, informed Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) Chief Administrator Ranjan Kumar Das today.

While speaking to the media persons today, the SJTA Chief Administrator informed that as the Srimandir Parikrama Prakalp will be inaugurated on January 17, 2024, spot for a yajna was identified today.

A special team comprising of the managing committee members, the priest of the temple, and several others, including identified the spot where the yajna, he said adding that the spot is located at the northeast corner of the Vaishnavite shrine.

He further said that the Ankurarpan ritual will begin on January 12 while a yajna (Havan) will be held at 7 AM on January 15 and Gajapati Maharaj Dibyasingha Deb will offer Purnahuti at the yajna as Kart.

While a Vedpath (recitation of the four Vedas) will be done at four gates (Dwaras) of the 12th century shrine, several Sadhus will do the Akhand Sankirtan for 24 hours.
