Puri Jagannath temple to remain closed from 4pm to 8pm today

The famous Jagannath temple in Puri will remain closed for four hours from 4pm in the evening till 8pm at night today.

Puri: The famous Jagannath temple in Puri will remain closed for four hours from 4pm in the evening till 8pm at night today that is on Wednesday, according to Puri Srimandir temple administration.

The temple will remain shut for banakalagi niti of the holy trinity. The temple will be closed after the second Bhogamandap.

As per traditions, Dutta Mohapatra Sevayats will adorn the Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Goddess Subhadra with sacred and traditional colours like saffron, green, red, black, and white in the Banakalagi ritual.

After completion of the Banakalagi Niti, Lord Jagannath will be given a ceremonial bath, marking the completion of the ritual. This ceremonial bath is traditionally known by the name of ‘Maha Snana.’ After which, the doors of the temple will once again be opened for visitors.
