Preparation for Assembly Elections 2024 in Odisha underway, says Election Commission
The EC Senior Principal Secretary Narendra N Butolia has said that preparation for Odisha assembly election 2024 is underway.
Bhubaneswar: The Election Commission has said that preparation for assembly election 2024 for Odisha is underway.
Speaking about the preparation, Election Commission Senior Principal Secretary Narendra N Butolia informed that he has written a letter to the State Chief Secretary and Chief Electoral Officer.
The letter contains detailed information about which officers will be engaged in election management and who needs to be replaced. No officer engaged in the election can be stationed in his own district.
Also, those who have worked in one place for more than 3 years will be changed. District Magistrates, Additional District Magistrates, Sub-District Magistrates, Tehsildars, BIDs residing in the district under the charge of Returning Officer will be replaced. Similarly, the posts of ADG, Range IG, DIG, SP, Commissioner, IIC, SI and Constable will also be changed under this rule.
Posting and transfer of officers will be made under guidelines. The Chief Secretary and DGP will submit the relevant compliance report to the Election Commission by January 31, 2024.
