Bhubaneswar: The passing out parade of 24th Batch Recruit Constables was held today at UPTTI, Bhubaneswar.
Police DG B.K. Sharma graced the programme as chief guest and took the ceremonial salute. Sharma also inspected the parade which was attended by 266 women recruit constables.
Sharma also congratulated the recruit constables for successful completion of the training programme and called upon them to perform their duty with utmost sincerity and honesty.
“Constables are the foundation stone of state police organisation. They have a huge responsibility to successfully implement the “Mo Sarkar” programme scheduled to be launched on October 2. Under this scheme, utmost emphasis will be given on the behavioural aspect of a policeman in the police station. A policeman needs to be well-behaved polite and gentle while dealing with citizens,” said Sharma. He also advised the women recruit constables to upkeep the image of Odisha Police by rendering self-less and dedicated services to the citizen.
As many as 10 platoons consisting of 266 women recruit constables from 21 districts participated in this passing out parade. These constables had undergone six months training which commenced in January this year. Both indoor and outdoor activities constituted their training capsule. They have been taught on major criminal Acts, role of police in modern India, organisation and administration of Odisha Police, human rights, police behaviours, police duty, weapon training and traffic management.
