Omicron Scare: Twin City contributes 30 per cent of Covid cases in Odisha today

Bhubaneswar: A graph of rising Covid-19 positive cases is witnessed in Twin City of Odisha. As on January 7, 2022 Bhubaneswar recorded 638 positive cases. On the other hand, Cuttack has reported 157 new Covid-19 cases today.

According to reports by Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), out of the total 638 positive cases registered today, 54 cases are quarantine cases while 584 cases are local contact cases.

With today’s development the total Covid-19 positive cases have increased to 1,24,492. The recovered cases are 1,22,481. The total deceased cases are 1103. At present, the active Covid-19 cases in Bhubaneswar stand at 1887.

In the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC area) 157 new Covid-19 cases were registered. While 19 cases were Institutional quarantine cases, 80 cases were home quarantine cases. As many as 58 cases recorded today are local contact cases.

The total cases in CMC are 46,428 while the recovered cases are 45,504. Active cases today are 495 while the deaths are 429.

The recovered cases in BMC and CMC on January 7 are 94 and 9 respectively.
