Bhubaneswar: Noted Ollywood actress Anu Choudhury on Monday filed a complaint against a particular web portal for publishing fake news about her.
Choudhury reportedly lodged a complaint with the cyber police station alleging the web portal circulated fake news on her heath status.
Reacting over the fake news, the actress said, “I was unaware about the incident until someone from Puri sent me the screenshot and link about the fake news through WatsApp. That person had already filed a complaint with the police. Soon, I too lodged a complaint in this regard with Cyber police.”
“It is very cheap mentality to use fake thumbnail to circulate fake news with the aim to draw viewers and earn money. Such fake news creates problem for us as the family members are getting worried and I have to attend innumerable calls asking me about health. Should I focus on my work or should I clarify about such fake news,” she added.
Meanwhile, the Cyber police is said to have started an investigation into the matter.
