Jagatsinghpur: In an unfortunate incident, a woman died of shock within hours of hearing the news of her husband’s death by heart attack at Purunabasanta village of Raghunath block in Jagatsinghpur on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Dwarikanath Das (70) and Shantilata Das of the same village.
On Saturday, Dwarikanath complained of chest pain and was taken to Jagatsinghpur District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) for treatment. After his health condition deteriorated he was shifted to SCB medical and hospital in Cuttack, where he breathed his last.
When Shantilata heard the news of demise of his husband, she went into shock and became unconscious. She was also rushed to Jagatsinghpur District Headquarters Hospital (DHH). She could not bear the shock and passed away due to heart attack.
After hearing the news of the duo’s death, a pall of gloom descended the entire village.
