Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued warnings for low pressure in the next 24 hours and heavy rainfall in Odisha.

According to the weather department, two depressions have formed in the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal. These depressions are growing stronger, and in the next 24 hours, they are expected to turn into low-pressure areas.

One of these low-pressure areas is set to impact the North Odisha coast of West Bengal, causing heavy rain in various parts of the state for four consecutive days.

Due to the low pressure, an orange warning has been issued to five districts, which include Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Bhadrak, and Balasore. These areas are at risk of experiencing heavy to very heavy rainfall today, with rainfall amounts ranging from 7 to 29 centimetres.

Additionally, the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow warning for nine districts. For tomorrow, ten districts have been placed under an orange warning, while eleven districts have received a yellow warning.

It’s worth noting that the state has already received 1105.4 percent of its normal rainfall from June 1 to June 29.
