Jajpur: During the third phase of Panchayat polls, the block development officer (BDO) of Korei block Ranjan Parida was allegedly attacked at Soti village under Goleipur Panchayat in Jajpur district on Sunday.
According to sources, some miscreants allegedly entered the polling booths forcefully at Soti UGME school under Goleipur Panchayat in Korei block and created a commotion in the 8,9, 10 and 11 booths.
The miscreants allegedly occupied the booth forcibly and voted in the ballot box , after which the voting was halted at 8,9, 10 and 11 booths.
On being informed about the irregularities, the Korei BDO rushed to the spot and tried to pacify the voters, where he was attacked.
Later, the police officials and Tahasildar reached the spot and started investigating the matter.
