As per a post of the Governor in his X handle, he was returning after having darshan of Maa Tara Tarini in Ganjam district. When he reached Purushottampur, he met Sudarshan Behera who sought some financial help for the treatment of his son Tanmay, who has been suffering from thalassemia.

Though, Tanmay’s treatment is underway at a hospital in Bengaluru, the family is unable to afford his treatment as it is too expensive. Soon after learning about Tanmay’s critical health condition, the Governor donated Rs 1 lakh instantly for his treatment.

This apart, the Governor also prayed to Maa Tara Tarini for Tanmay’s recovery and urged everyone to help him.

It is to be noted here that the Governor during his visit to Malkangiri district last month had donated Rs 1 lakh to one Kabita Khara, IAS aspirant of Pangam Badaguda under the Mathili block.
