Odisha: Fire personnel’s body found hanging from tree under mysterious circumstances

Bhanjanagar: The body of a fire services department employee was found hanging from a roadside tree at Budhakendu forest in Ganjam district under mysterious circumstances today. He was wearing the uniform and his mobile phone and a vehicle of the Fire Department were found on the spot.

According to information, the deceased employee of the fire services department has been identified as Dayanadhi Mohanta of Keonjhar. He was working at Aska Fire Station as Driver Havildar.

On being informed, a team of Gangpur police reached the spot, seized the body and sent it for post-mortem. From its preliminary investigation, police suspect that the fire personnel has committed suicide. However, the exact reason behind his death would be known when the autopsy report is out.

Meanwhile, several questions have been raised over Dayanadhi’s death. Locals have started asking why he went to Gangpur police station area which is around 25 kilometres away from the Aska police station to commit suicide, if he has done so and what prompted him to take the drastic step.
