Bonai: In a shocking incident, the death of a convict in Odisha’s Sundargarh district has been reported on Sunday by reliable sources.
According to reliable reports, an undertrial prisoner of Bonai special sub-jail has died at the hospital after a brief illness.
The deceased has been identified as Sukumar Munda. He was a resident of Langala village under Kamarposh Balang Police Station of Sundargarh district in Odisha.
According to reports, he was lodged in jail in connection with a murder that he had allegedly committed in the 2020.
An undertrial prisoner had died in Jharpada jail of Bhubaneswar in Odisha on July 10, 2023 said sources.
The undertrial has been identified as Mir Sairuddin. The reason behind the death is said to be a cardiac arrest.
He was lodged in Bhubaneswar Jharpada jail since 2017. He had been arrested in connection with a chit fund case.
